Soft apple and chocolate bread
PREP TIME: 40 MINUTES
TOTAL: 1 H 50 MINUTES
Ingredients (approximately 10-12 slices)
3 cups apples (cut into medium-sized pieces)
1 tsp full (each) ground cinnamon, baking soda, salt and lemon peel
1 ½ tsp full baking powder
1 ½ cups sugar
1 cup chocolate chips (black, milk chocolate or white)
¼ cup milk
2 cups flour
1 tbsp fat, margarine or butter
Preheat oven to 350°C.
In an oven safe bowl, combine apples and cinnamon, mix well and put in the oven for approximately 20 minutes. Afterwards, refrigerate the mixture for approximately 10 minutes.
In another bowl, mix baking soda, lemon peel, salt, baking powder, sugar and flour.
Add milk and eggs, mix well until you have a smooth paste.
Add apples and mix all together.
Add chocolate chips and mix all together.
Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan and put in the oven at 350°C, on the middle rack,
for 60 minutes.
Let cool for approximately 10 minutes and remove bread from pan.
